I’ve had enough! I need to go hiking!

So, what are you still waiting for?
Pack your bags! Don’t forget your hiking boots, sticks and sun protection and off you go to the Gassenwirt,
where we have selected a whole host of fantastic hikes for you.
So many, in fact, that a whole summer won't be enough. Luckily, summer comes every year.
And then, at last, pieces of rock crunch beneath your feet, long blades of grass flick your legs and the scent of the pines tickles your nose.
On the summit you’re overcome with happiness. “I did it!!!”
The freedom up here is magnificent. We bet you’ve missed this feeling. Us too!
And that’s why we’re all the more excited to go hiking this year and we can't wait to take you with us!

Andreas hiking tip to the Uwald mountain hut

A beautiful circular hiking tour with breathtaking views in the Val di Casies!
From S. Maddalena we walk on the hiking path 2000, through lush green woods, up to the beautiful Tscharnied-Alm mountain refuge. Now, through blooming mountain meadows and shady forests, we follow the path to the small Kipfelalm mountain hut. From here we walk on first to the Stumpfalm and Kaseralm huts, then to our final destination: the Uwald mountain hut. After a tasty break with culinary specialities of the Val Pusteria we hike back to the starting point.
Hobby hikers can also take a shorter path that leads them directly to the Uwald mountain hut (approx. 1.5 h there and back).

My personal tip: Try out the delicious chili or honey-ginger grappa made by Sarah & Matti at the Uwaldalm.

Petras hiking tip to the Three Peaks

Up to the Three Peaks - the landmark of South Tyrol: a panoramic, overwhelming circular hike in the heart of the Dolomites - UNESCO World Natural Heritage!
From the Auronzo mountain hut we comfortably walk to the Lavaredo hut, then we go up slightly to the Rifugio Locatelli hut. On the way back we walk on the other side of the Peaks.
During the whole circular tour we are accompanied by fascinating views of the Three Peaks, which in the late afternoon shine in a glowing red light and create a magical atmosphere over the pale, legendary Dolomite peaks...

My personal tip: The Tre-Cime panorama during the sunset is breathtaking!

Claudias hiking tip to the Gönner hut

From the Earth Pyramids in Platten/Percha we first walk along the Pyramid Path, then along the wide forest path until we reach the Gönner hut at 1987 m of height. Here we enjoy a tasty stop with homemade delicacies, surrounded by picturesque views of Brunico, the Dolomites, the main Alpine ridge and the Val Pusteria.
Along the same path we hike back to the starting point. Experienced hikers can walk on to the Monte Montone which offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains. The last ascent to the summit requires sure-footedness.

My personal tip: Get spoiled at the Gönneralm by Andreas jummy Mountain-Herbs Risotto!

Judith's hiking tip to the Giogo d'Asta

From the Kreuznerhof in Elle we first join Christian at the Walderalm where we enjoy the view over the mountains of Brunico. The trail continues through the forest and a suggestive mountain pine landscape up to the Giogo d'Asta/Astjoch. A spectacular panorama over the Odle Peaks, Sass de Putia, the Sciliar massif, the Ötztal Valley and the Zillertal Alps awaits you. After the uphill hike, I like to treat myself in a delicious apple strudel or Kaiserschmarrn at the Rastnerhütte.

My personal tip: The hike is particularly beautiful in May, when the crocus blossom is in full splendour.

Milan's hiking tip into the legendary realm of Fanes

My favourite hike leads in the heart of the mysterious setting of several Dolomite legends, the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park. My favourite hike starts from the Pederü mountain inn into the area of the Fanes mountain hut. After a short rest at the Lavarella hut, we continue along the path below the Grünsee lake towards the Fanes hut.

My personal tip: The Limo Pass and to the yellow-green shimmering Limo Lake! And all the adventure seekers can climb the summit of Col Bechei.

Verena's hiking tip: Summit tour in the Fundres Mountains

My favourite hike starts from the "Gelenke" parking area in Corti/Hofern and leads through the coniferous forests up to the Moarhof hut, where I like to enjoy some tasty homemade Schlutzkrapfen on the sunny terrace. After some refreshment, the trail continues via the Grünbachalm, guided by alpine roses and star gentian, up to the Grünbachsee lake. All the summit climbers have the possibility to reach the Grünbachspitze in half an hour, which rewards us with a unique panorama of the Zillertal Alps, the Sesto Dolomites, the Marmolada and the Sarentino Alps.

My personal tip: I like to enjoy a relaxing break at the shimmering Grünbachsee lake and refresh my legs in the crystal-clear mountain water.
